Ever so curious as I am, I knew I had to see this. But when the seller whipped out the CD from the back of his desk, I took one look at the cover and knew this was one game that was I was never going to play. ‘Rapeplay’ was the name and just last week it had created a proverbial Tsunami on gaming portals for it’s X-rated content. Swedish thriller based on Stieg Larsson’s novel about a journalist and a young female hacker.
In the opening of the movie, Mikael Blomkvist, a middle-aged publisher for the magazine Millennium, loses a libel case brought by corrupt Swedish industrialist Hans-Erik Wennerström. A group of fourteen strangers wearing electronic necklaces are locked in a large room without any previous explanation. Sooner they are informed by a man on a monitor that they are participating in a deadly game, where the prize is their own life, but they should follow certain rules to stay alive.
